Dropbox Education connects your campus with the collaboration tool instructors and learners prefer, letting them work anywhere on any device. In addition, enterprise-grade security features give you the control and visibility you need to manage data across campus.
Watch how CSUF instructors and learners work together using Dropbox Education
The Dropbox Education integration allows instructors and learners to easily link to and upload their Dropbox content into their Blackboard Learn courses. Bringing these tools together into a seamlessly integrated solution leads to increased user satisfaction and deeper engagement across the institution's entire user community.
After the integration is enabled, instructors and learners can link to their Dropbox content directly from Blackboard Learn using the mashup menu found in most content creation workflows: content creation, tests, discussion boards, blogs, journals, wikis, announcements, feedback, and grading notes. This is made even easier with the seamless authentication between Blackboard Learn and Dropbox Education.
The Blackboard Learn 9.1 Q4 2016 release offers learners the added benefit of being able to upload assignments into Blackboard Learn directly from their Dropbox.
This building block integrates with both Dropbox Education and personal Dropbox accounts.
The Dropbox Education integration is bundled with Blackboard Learn SaaS and Blackboard Learn 9.1 releases Q4 2016 and later. The building block is also compatible with Blackboard Learn 9.1 releases Q4 2015 and Q2 2016.

Configure the Dropbox Education integration
If you're using Blackboard Learn 9.1 release Q4 2015 or Q2 2016, you'll have to install the building block. You can find the Dropbox Integration Building Block on Behind the Blackboard. After you download the .war file, install the building block.
If you're using Blackboard Learn 9.1 on the Q4 2016 release or later, the building block is bundled and you can proceed to configure it.
- Go to Admin Panel > Building Blocks > Installed Tools.
- Find Dropbox Integration in the list of building blocks, and select Settings from the menu.
- On the Dropbox Settings page, enter your institution's app key. If your institution doesn't have an app key, select Dropbox Chooser Developer to set up an app and retrieve a key. Each institution should have their own app key to use with their domain.
- After entering the app key value, select Verify Dropbox Configuration to validate the key.
More on app key value - Select Submit.
- To make the Dropbox Integration available, go to Installed Tools and select Set Available in the Dropbox Integration menu.
You're all set! Remember to turn on the Dropbox tool for instructors and learners to use in their courses. On the Administrator Panel, go to Tools and locate the tool. Turn the availability to On.
Support
Instructors and learners enter their Dropbox credentials to access their content, and the credentials are cached. In shared environments such as computer labs, users should be advised to clear browser cookies at the end of the session. Alternatively, shared environments may be configured to automatically clear cookies when a user logs out at the end of their session, also clearing their credentials.
If you have issues with the integration, you can file a Behind the Blackboard ticket. Designate the Issue Topic as Building Blocks/Extensions and the Functional Area as Dropbox.
